2. MCAT Test Date Changes

Life happens—and sometimes that means your original MCAT test date might no longer work. If you need to make a change, the AAMC allows you to reschedule or cancel your exam—but it's important to act early.

The sooner you make changes, the more money you save. The AAMC applies rescheduling and cancellation fees based on how close you are to your exam date.

We recommend reviewing all applicable deadlines before making any changes. Whether you're pushing your exam back, moving it earlier, or canceling altogether, be sure to take action before the 10-day deadline to avoid losing your entire registration fee.

3. changing MCAT test Date

Yes—you can change your MCAT test date through the AAMC website, but rescheduling fees apply. The closer you are to your original exam date, the higher the fee, so it’s best to make any changes as early as possible.

That said, the best way to avoid extra costs is to choose a date you can realistically commit to and build a study plan around it. If something unexpected comes up, the AAMC has clear instructions on how to make changes through your account.

4. MCAT Cancellation Costs

The AAMC allows you to reschedule or cancel your MCAT test date, but there are fees involved depending on how close you are to your test day.

To avoid paying the highest fees (or missing out on refunds entirely), it’s best to make any changes as early as possible. Whether you’re moving your date up or pushing it back, being proactive can save you time, money, and stress.

The chart below breaks down the MCAT rescheduling and cancellation fees so you can plan ahead and make informed decisions.
